1. Who we are

This site (julien.vegas) is operated as a personal online business by Julien. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to julien@julien.vegas.

2. What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you interact with the site, that may include:

  • Automatically logged data — IP address, user-agent string, referrer, pages requested, and timestamps. This is standard web server log data, used to operate and secure the site.
  • Anonymous usage analytics — anonymized session recordings and aggregated interaction data (clicks, scrolling, page paths, traffic sources) collected through Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
  • Information you provide — any details you voluntarily send us (for example, your name, email, and message contents when you contact us by email or through a form).

3. How we use it

  • To operate, maintain, and secure the website.
  • To understand which content and features are useful, and to improve them.
  • To respond to messages or requests you send us.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the data we collect to build advertising profiles.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The site may use cookies and similar storage mechanisms — primarily for analytics (Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics) and basic functionality. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some parts of the site may be less convenient as a result.

5. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third parties to operate the site. Each one only sees the data necessary for its function:

  • Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, TLS termination, and basic protection against abuse.
  • DigitalOcean — hosting infrastructure for the web server.
  • Microsoft Clarity — anonymous behavioral analytics. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
  • Google Analytics — aggregated traffic and engagement analytics. See Google's privacy policy.
  • SendGrid — outbound transactional email delivery.
  • HostGator — inbound email hosting for julien.vegas mailboxes.

These providers act as data processors on our behalf, and are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

6. Data retention

Server and analytics logs are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, and analysis — typically no longer than 14 months. Emails you send us are retained for as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA (California) — including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email julien@julien.vegas and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to systems handling personal data is restricted. No system is ever perfectly secure — if you suspect a problem, please email julien@julien.vegas.

10. International transfers

Our infrastructure and service providers are primarily in the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed there.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
